What does a curtain workroom for interior designers in Sydney do?

A workroom turns a designer's specification into finished window furnishings: it checks fabric quantities, plans pattern placement, constructs the curtain or Roman blind, and installs it to the measured opening. For designers, the value is predictability — the finished piece matches the drawing, the fold sits where it should, and the client does not inherit an avoidable fitting problem. CCBD works this way on every designer project: one contact, a written specification, a site check measure before cutting, and installation by our own team.

Roman blinds made to a designer's standard

  • Flat fold, relaxed and hobbled constructions; inside or outside the recess
  • Pattern centred on each blind and aligned across a run of windows
  • Linings chosen by room: light-filtering, blockout or interlined
  • Chain, cordless or motorised operation

Designer fabrics and performance fabrics in one place

Choose from 600+ fabrics, including designer collections from Prestigious Textiles, Sanderson, William Morris (Morris & Co.), James Dunlop and Warwick, alongside stain-resistant and abrasion-resistant fabrics for family homes, rentals and high-use rooms. Sourcing through our supply network across Australia, Asia and Europe gives your project fast delivery and outstanding value.

Client-ready quotations and specification schedules

We supply a clean quotation and a window-by-window specification schedule — product, fabric, lining, heading or fold, operation and fixing — without our pricing breakdown, so you can present it to your client under your own process.

Blockout that is actually dark

Bedrooms and media rooms are judged in use, not only in the showroom. We specify blockout as a system: lining, ceiling or face fixing, returns at the sides, overlap at the centre and drop to the floor.

Project questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you make curtains and Roman blinds with the client's own fabric?

Yes. CCBD makes and installs with customer's own material (COM). Send fabric width, pattern repeat, composition, weight and quantity so we can confirm make-up before it is ordered or delivered. We also check the selected lining, heading or Roman fold against that fabric and the actual measured opening.

Can the quotation go directly to my client?

Yes. We provide a client-ready quotation and a window-by-window specification schedule without our pricing breakdown. You can present those documents to your client under your own process. The schedule records product, fabric, lining, heading or fold, operation and fitting, so decisions remain clear through approval, manufacture and installation.

How is designer pricing worked out?

Each project is priced individually according to its scope: number of windows, selected treatments, fabric, hardware and installation conditions. A dedicated contact replies within two business days to confirm the brief and the next step. A site check measure and final specification resolve any details that cannot be confirmed from drawings alone.

Which Roman blind styles do you make?

CCBD offers flat fold, relaxed and hobbled Roman blinds, fitted inside or outside the recess as the window permits. Lining can be light-filtering, blockout or interlined, while operation may be chain, cordless or motorised where the selected system is suitable. Pattern placement and finished stack are agreed before manufacture.

How long do Roman blinds take?

Roman blinds and curtains usually take 4–6 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the selected fabric and site conditions. Blockout curtains are available from about 2 weeks. The written quotation confirms the applicable timing and product scope; share any fixed installation date early so the project can be planned around it.

Do you measure and install, or only make?

We do both. Our team completes a site check measure before manufacture and installs the finished window furnishings. The designer can provide the brief and preferred fabrics, while we record the finished treatment and fitting requirements in a specification schedule. That keeps responsibility for the final fit tied to the actual window.

Which fabric houses do you work with?

Our 600+ fabrics include Prestigious Textiles, Sanderson, William Morris (Morris & Co.), James Dunlop, Warwick, Sunbrella, Mobus Fabrics, Slender Morris, Nettex and LuxAura. A designer may also supply suitable customer-owned material. We confirm current availability, quantities and construction suitability against the selected window and treatment.

Do you have hard-wearing fabrics for family homes?

Yes. We offer stain-resistant and abrasion-resistant fabrics for family rooms, rentals and other high-use spaces. Selection still depends on the actual room, curtain or Roman construction, desired appearance and care requirements. We review the chosen fabric and lining together so the finished treatment is practical as well as visually appropriate.
