ABOUT CCBD · SYDNEY · ESTABLISHED 2003

Experience shows in the details.

Designing, making and installing window furnishings for Sydney homes since 2003. We work with homeowners, designers and project teams to select fabrics and treatments that suit the room and can be fitted properly.

Over more than two decades, the products and technology have changed — windows have become larger, motorisation has advanced and homes have become more open — but the core judgement remains the same: understand the room, understand the window, choose the right treatment and resolve the details before installation.

WHY EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Experience is useful when it changes the decision.

A window furnishing is judged twice: first as part of the room, then in everyday use. It must clear the handle, stack in the available wall space, control the required light and remain practical to operate.

Long experience is not a reason to repeat an old solution. It is the ability to recognise where proportion, fabric behaviour, fixing or access will change the result before the treatment is ordered.

OUR STORY

Built over time, one window at a time.

CCBD began in Sydney in 2003 with custom curtains and soft furnishings — work where fabric, proportion, making and installation determine whether the finished result feels right.

As homes, products and technology evolved, Roman blinds, shutters, motorisation, whole-home planning and project coordination became part of the same window furnishing discipline.

THE CCBD APPROACH

We start with the room, not the product.

Light, privacy, outlook, architecture, furniture and daily use are considered before a curtain, Roman blind, blind, shutter or layered treatment is selected.

Fabric, lining, hardware, motorisation, proportions, fixing and installation then form one specification. This sequence keeps a beautiful sample from becoming the wrong treatment for the opening.

CRAFTSMANSHIP & INSTALLATION

The result is resolved before and during installation.

The finished result is not created in the workroom alone. Site measurement, substrate, track or frame position, clearances, levelling and final adjustment determine how the treatment meets the architecture.

CCBD's installation capability is backed by more than two decades of professional window furnishing experience across Sydney.

SYDNEY CONDITIONS

Sydney homes do not present one standard brief.

Established homes, apartments, coastal exposure, large glazing and renovations each alter the practical decision. Location provides context; the actual window still decides the specification.

Strong sun window furnishing context

Strong sun

Orientation, glazing, fabric colour, lining and exposure all influence how a treatment performs and ages. West-facing windows, northern exposure and large glazing need to be assessed at the actual room.

Pet families window furnishing context

Pet families

Snagging, claws, low-level contact, sliding-door access and cleaning can change which fabric or treatment makes sense. No furnishing should be described as pet-proof without specific evidence.

Bedrooms & sleep window furnishing context

Bedrooms & sleep

Strong room darkening depends on the face fabric, lining, fitting position, overlap and perimeter light paths — not an opaque swatch alone.

Kitchens & bathrooms window furnishing context

Kitchens & bathrooms

Moisture, grease, cleaning and material stability can matter more here than in a quiet living room. Suitability depends on the selected material and its actual exposure.

Large windows window furnishing context

Large windows

Large spans and drops change track loads, stack-back, fixing, treatment weight, motorisation and daily operation. More glass does not simply mean more fabric.

Coastal homes window furnishing context

Coastal homes

Salt-laden air, humidity and strong exposure can influence material, finish and hardware selection across the Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and other coastal Sydney locations.

ADVICE & KNOWLEDGE

Useful knowledge should improve the decision.

The CCBD Knowledge Hub is a professional decision library: practical guidance on fabrics, Roman construction, tracks, motorisation, light, privacy, coastal exposure and the failure modes that should be considered before ordering.

Authority comes from accurate, useful and difficult-to-copy information — not simply more words.
