Open windows, damp air and direct light place different demands on fabric and hardware. A light natural-looking cloth is not automatically suitable for every coastal opening. Confirm care guidance, dimensional behaviour and hardware suitability for the actual exposure rather than relying on the word “coastal”.
At balcony and garden doors, consider where fabric sits while the door is in use. Avoid a stack that sweeps across a walking route or rests against a wet threshold. Where a view is important, compare how much glass remains visible with the treatment both fully raised and partly closed.
Make the site visit useful.
Send a photograph of each opening and a wider view showing the surrounding wall, ceiling and furniture. Describe when the problem is most noticeable: afternoon glare, night-time overlooking, difficult reach or sleep disruption.

Should I order from my own measurements?
Your approximate dimensions help an initial discussion, but the final order needs verified measurements, hardware allowances and installation details. Fabric or system size is not simply the glass dimension.
Can different rooms use different products?
Yes. A coordinated scheme can use curtains at wide doors, Romans at smaller windows and rollers or shutters where their operation suits the room. The palette and visible detailing can connect the different treatments.
