Curtains & blinds for Lower North Shore.

Curtains and blinds planned around close neighbours, harbour-facing glazing and the practicalities of apartment and family-home living.

Keep the outlook without leaving evening privacy unresolved.

An open-weave screen can be useful for daytime glare and view-through, but the effect changes once indoor lighting is brighter than outside. Ask to compare a sheer or screen by day and pair it with a separate opaque layer where evening privacy matters.

At sliding doors, the curtain stack and roller control must not occupy the main passage. In compact rooms, measure bracket projection and the clearance between layers before assuming two systems will fit. Bay windows also need a considered corner arrangement, not separate straight tracks that leave obvious gaps.

Make the site visit useful.

Send a photograph of each opening and a wider view showing the surrounding wall, ceiling and furniture. Describe when the problem is most noticeable: afternoon glare, night-time overlooking, difficult reach or sleep disruption.

CCBD will work through the fabric, lining, fitting position and control as one specification. Site measurements and hardware suitability are confirmed before manufacture. We do not assume every home in the area needs the same product.

  • Identify each window consistently across photographs and plans.
  • Note any planned flooring, ceiling work or electrical changes.
  • Tell us about building access and any restrictions that need checking.

Before you decide

Questions & answers

Should I order from my own measurements?

Your approximate dimensions help an initial discussion, but the final order needs verified measurements, hardware allowances and installation details. Fabric or system size is not simply the glass dimension.

Can different rooms use different products?

Yes. A coordinated scheme can use curtains at wide doors, Romans at smaller windows and rollers or shutters where their operation suits the room. The palette and visible detailing can connect the different treatments.

A conversation, then a considered specification

Let’s resolve the details.

Bring your room photographs, plans or fabric ideas. We will work through light, privacy, proportions and installation before the specification is finalised.
