One house can contain several different light conditions.
A west-facing living room may need glare control while a shaded bedroom needs to retain as much daylight as possible. Treating both with the same opacity because the windows face the same street can work against the rooms. Record the time of day each problem occurs and distinguish direct sun, reflected light and overlooking.
In renovations, record the final floor and ceiling levels before manufacture. In apartments, discuss access, fixing restrictions and the appearance from outside with the relevant building contacts before installation. Where street noise is the issue, establish whether the concern is reverberation inside or transmission through the building envelope.
Make the site visit useful.
Send a photograph of each opening and a wider view showing the surrounding wall, ceiling and furniture. Describe when the problem is most noticeable: afternoon glare, night-time overlooking, difficult reach or sleep disruption.
CCBD will work through the fabric, lining, fitting position and control as one specification. Site measurements and hardware suitability are confirmed before manufacture. We do not assume every home in the area needs the same product.
- Identify each window consistently across photographs and plans.
- Note any planned flooring, ceiling work or electrical changes.
- Tell us about building access and any restrictions that need checking.

Questions & answers
Should I order from my own measurements?
Your approximate dimensions help an initial discussion, but the final order needs verified measurements, hardware allowances and installation details. Fabric or system size is not simply the glass dimension.
Can different rooms use different products?
Yes. A coordinated scheme can use curtains at wide doors, Romans at smaller windows and rollers or shutters where their operation suits the room. The palette and visible detailing can connect the different treatments.
