How do hotels get guest rooms dark?

A blockout lining alone does not make a dark room — light can escape at the edges, the top and the centre join. For guest rooms we specify the whole treatment:

DetailWhat we do
Track positionCeiling-fixed or high face-fixed to reduce light above
WidthCurtain extends past the window on both sides
ReturnsCurtain returns to the wall at the ends
CentreOverlap arms or overlapping panels
DropTo the floor, with minimal clearance
LayeringBlockout plus sheer on a double track for daytime privacy

Installation without taking rooms offline

We install after hours and on weekends, and schedule work floor by floor around occupancy, so guest rooms and public areas can stay in service.

Repeatable room-type specifications

Each room type is recorded — fabric, lining, heading, track, finished sizes and fixing — so replacement or additional sets can be reordered to the approved specification during refurbishments and refresh cycles.

Project questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the best curtain setup for hotel guest rooms?

A blockout curtain with a separate sheer on a double track is a useful starting point. The blockout should extend beyond the window, return towards the wall and overlap at the centre to reduce light gaps; the sheer supports daytime privacy. The actual arrangement is confirmed against each room type and its glazing.

How fast can blockout curtains be supplied for a hotel?

CCBD blockout curtains are available from about 2 weeks from order confirmation, depending on fabric availability, quantity and site conditions. Larger room counts can be scheduled in stages. Share the room-type schedule and target dates so a dedicated contact can confirm the practical manufacture and installation sequence in the written project quotation.

Can you install without closing guest rooms?

Yes. For hospitality projects we can install after hours, on weekends or floor by floor, coordinated with occupancy and site access. The installation plan is agreed for the particular property; it should identify room availability, any access restrictions and the sequence needed to keep guest rooms and public areas in service.

Can we reorder the same curtains later?

Yes. We record the approved room-type specification, including fabric, lining, heading, track, finished sizes and fixing. That record provides a consistent starting point for replacement or additional sets during a refurbishment. Current fabric and component availability still needs checking at the time of a new order.

How is hotel project pricing set?

Each hotel project is priced individually by its room count, window treatments, selected fabrics, hardware and installation requirements. A dedicated contact replies within two business days to confirm the brief and next steps. Plans or a room-type schedule help us prepare a useful scope before the site check measure and final quotation.

Do you offer acoustic fabrics for hotel rooms?

Yes. CCBD offers acoustic fabrics for hotel projects that help absorb sound and soften room acoustics. These may be considered alongside blockout linings where a guest room needs both textile softness and light control. We select the fabric and complete construction for the room without promising a numerical acoustic result.

Are stain-resistant fabrics available for hotels?

Yes. Stain-resistant and abrasion-resistant fabrics are available for guest rooms and public areas where curtains are handled and cleaned often. The right choice depends on room use, desired appearance, fabric behaviour, lining and care guidance. We review those factors in the room-type specification rather than treating one fabric property as the complete solution.

Can we use our own approved fabric?

Yes. CCBD accepts suitable customer's own material for hotel curtains and Roman blinds. Supply its width, pattern repeat, composition, weight, treatment and care notes, plus the quantity available. We check those details against the heading, lining and room-type dimensions before confirming make-up, so the approved specification is practical to repeat.
